Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Party

So the little guy turned 2 and I wanted to have a birthday party for him and invite his little friends.  When he turned 1 I was pregnant with Aria and I selfishly threw his birthday party at Hot House Cafe cause all I really wanted was to eat at a buffet! LOL – that's a whole different story.

Anyhoo – back to the party!  Shane is a HUGE fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so I decided to stick with that as a theme.  When I started researching cost I saw that costs could really add up.  So I decided to bring out my crafty side to cut costs.

Now I have a fantastic printer (the HP Photosmart All In One) so I downloaded the Disney Font and got to making some signs and posters.  With good quality graphics all I had to do was slap them on some construction paper and they looked fantastic.  For our front door I made some signs as well as some popular sayings from the show to post around the house.  I also made some signs for the food such as Chips and Dale, Mickey's Munchies, Goofy's Goldfish and more.

Then I decided to keep going with my crafty self.  So I hit up Dollerama and bought some plain gift bags.  Took them home and spray painted them with chalkboard spray that I had left over from a previous craft.  Added some red duck tape on the bottom of the bag and added a couple of circles as Mickey ears.  I then wrote each child's name in chalk.  This way the bag can be reused and the parents (or kids) can decorate the bag any way they like.

Then I decided to make Mickey ears for all of the kids in attendance.  Bought the hair bands at Dollerama and used black craft foam for the ears.  You can use construction paper or card stock but I like the foam cause it sticks up great.  I got the template for the ears HERE on the Disney Junior site.  They also have other great stuff for birthday parties.

Because of the money that I saved on the party I decided to get a totally AWESOME cake and man was I ever happy!  If you live in the Durham Ontario area I would totally recommend Caked Ink.  She did a fantastic job and all of the kids (and parents) were super impressed with it. You can look her up HERE.

Just to round out all of the decorations I got a couple of balloons and a super cool poster from Party City .  And yes that is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse playing in the background.

The party was a huge success, the kiddlets had fun, and my crafts saved us a few bucks!  Win – Win all around 🙂

Awesome! I wish to throw a small party as well for my little boy when he turns 3 come June, but I am not as crafty as you. I want to save up some money as well to buy party supplies and get a very cool cake like yours! Great job on the party! Happy Birthday to your little man!
