Summer weather is FINALLY here. I really felt like this winter was never going to end! I have been itching to get into the backyard and get this makeover under way. My goal is to create a space that the entire family is going to enjoy. Last year we planted our first veggie garden and the kids just watched from the sidelines, this year I am getting them involved.
I saw these super cute garden tools and picked them up immediately. They have several different characters but decided on Frozen (of course) for Aria and Cars for Shane. I am excited to show them the process of planting from seed, watering and then harvesting to eat.
I also picked up a pair of new gloves for myself and lots of seeds. This year we are going to grow carrots, cucumber, onion, thyme, tomatoes, hot peppers and zucchini. Convincing the kids that food was going to grow from the little seeds was not easy. I look forward to the first sprouts to be able to show them.
Our hunt for the perfect patio set has come to an end. There are so many questions when picking out the set that is perfect for your family. Do we want round, oval, 6 or 8 chairs? Plastic or glass top, chairs that need cushions or not?
I am totally in love with it and even more excited to get it all set up! The chairs are uber comfortable and even rock a bit. It is the perfect size for our family and a couple of guests!
I just had to get the littles a couple of Adirondack chairs so that they could relax with us when we lounge in ours. So cute right? They are the perfect size and they can not wait to get them out there to hang out on.
And last we are creating a outdoor chalkboard for the kids. They love to play with chalk so why not give them the perfect canvas for it. We plan to hang it on the fence once it is done. I will have step by step instructions on my next post.
Now comes the fun part! Set up! I can not wait to show you the finished product 🙂
