Vitamins – What is What?
Do you take a multivitamin, or a cocktail of supplements?
As I get older I am becoming more and more aware of my general health and well being. Now that I am consistently going to Orangetheory Fitness I am focusing on the food that I eat, how much water I drink and the vitamins/supplements that I take.
In my research I went to two of my friends and asked what they take. These two gals are really on the ball when it comes to their health and well being. The funny thing is, that for two women that are the same age they are taking completely different supplements. At first I thought that this was strange so I asked more questions. They both took different things depending on how their body reacted to it, things for their general health, mood, and so much more. This really got me thinking that it is not a one size fits all situation.
I also believe that something is better than nothing so I am starting with the following. This is just me trying to figure it all out, I am not giving medical advice 😀
A Women's Multi-Vitamin: I am currently using the GNC – Women's Ultra Mega Active multi-vitamin. It says that it is great for active women so I am giving it a shot. So far so good.
Vitamin D: Cause the winter is long and these gloomy days are not giving us much sun. Also, even when it is sunny, I am sadly not basking in it 😉
Omega 3-6-9: We all know that fatty acids are important and I am pretty sure that I am not getting enough in my regular diet so I am trying this out.
Hair, Skin and Nails Gummies: This is purely vanity – LOL! I want my hair and nails to grow and be beautiful, and they taste good 😉
I bought a really cool container on Amazon (PRIME for the win!) that is keeping me organized. I like that you can take the little pods off and carry them with you seperatley.
Moving forward I am going to make an appointment with my doctor to have some blood drawn and discuss what I should be taking if I'm not already. What do you take and why? I would love to hear from you!
