My Little Tikes Table UpCycle
I'm not sure what it is but ever since becoming a mom I have found my crafty side – LOL! Lately I have been all over UpCycling some pretty fantastic pieces. Why not save some money and make a one of a kind item for your home. So a couple of weeks ago I saw a post on Pinterest of a blogger that made over her Little Tikes table. See her post HERE.
I loved the idea so much that I hit up kijiji in search of some sort of kids table to make over. I found the table below for only $10. I ran over – picked it up and got to work. I am so super happy with the finished product. 🙂
Other than the table that you are UpCycling you only need a few materials.
- A staple gun
- Cheap spray paint in your colour of choice. Don't buy the expensive stuff, I spent only a couple of bucks!
- Your choice of fabric
- Vinyl to cover the seats and top of table. I bought a vinyl shower curtain but you can buy sheets of vinyl also.
This was a really easy craft. It was fairly easy to take apart. No nails or screws in the version the legs just popped off. Once all pieces were apart I cleaned and dried them all really well. The legs took only one coat of paint which was awesome and some touch ups when dry. I cut the fabric around each piece and stapled it directly to the table. As the seats are a bit curved I had to do some tucking but it is under the seats so nobody can see it. 😉 Once the fabric was done I repeated the same steps but with the vinyl.
I then put it all back together just as I found it but looking pretty stylish. Now Shane has a fun little table to sit at, and easy to wipe down any messes made. This was a fun and really easy DIY UpCycle project that looks really cool!

Looks fantastic and pretty simple to do. I like the material you chose to cover the top. It looks quite attractive.

Wow, that looks gorgeous!!! I wanna do that now. Plastic tables look soo… I don’t know, childish or clunky to me. That looks ritzy!!! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

OMGee Amy this looks great and you have inspired me! We have an old Dora table that my daughter has long since outgrown and we were going to sell it and get a Spider man one for the boy, but I think I will give something like this a try. Thank you!
