Pretty Painted Mason Jars

I love being crafty and making fun things for my home but these days I don't have lots of time and have little fingers wanting to get into pretty much EVERYTHING!  This craft is easy, totally inexpensive and can make displaying your stuff a little prettier.

All you need is a Mason Jar (you know you have some somewhere) and inexpensive paint.  Seriously I'm talkin dollar store paint. Make sure it is water based you will thank me later.

Make sure your jar is clean and dry.  Then all you do is squeeze your paint into the bottom of the jar and swirl it around until the entire jar is covered from the inside.  Set it down for about 20 minutes and then re-swirl the paint that has settled in the bottom of the jar and make sure you get any spots that may have been missed.

Let the paint dry for 24 hours.  I then cut a circle of foil to put in the bottom of the jar.  Then you can put whatever you want in it.  I have some fancy straws, cutlery or pens.  Whatever you choose to use πŸ˜‰

Check out the ones that I did for my Christmas buffet last year.

Now the reason that I say use Water based paint is because all you have to do is soak you jar in hot soapy water with a little elbow grease and you all of a sudden have a clean slate to whatever you want with. What is your favorite thing to store in a mason jar?
