Family Time At The YMCA


Over the past month the four of us have been having quite the adventure and I can't wait to share it all with you.  Until quite recently I didn't know too much about the YMCA but I am so excited about all that I have found out so far.  

Over the next month and a half I will be covering some pretty awesome stuff happening at the Y and today I want to tell you about my family Saturdays.  

Let's face it.  Families are so busy these days, I feel like we are running from one place to the other without really enjoying each other.  That being said when we are taking time for the family I find it really hard to get my butt to the gym.  The Y in our hood has made it super easy to do both.  For the past 3 Saturday's we have been getting up in the mornings and headed out to the gym. 

Once we get there Shane and Aria head into the Child Minding area to play with the other kids.  I am so happy to drop them in because I know that they are actively playing and not sitting watching a TV. I often have a hard time getting them to leave, which can only be a good thing, right? 🙂   This gives me piece of mind when working out so I can focus on the task at hand.  Shaun and I take an hour to work out and my cardio is not so difficult because I have my own personal TV to watch whatever I want.  Nothing makes the elliptical just a little bit better than watching the Gilmore Girls 😉


Once we are done we pick up the kids and have a snack.  There are lots of tables to accommodate us and even high chairs for the little ones.  Now that we have energy we hit up the gymnasium where they blow up a bouncy castle and have toys for the little ones to burn off some serious steam!  The staff is amazing and fun, and love getting involved with our little monkey's.

By the time we leave the kids are wiped and ready for nap time.  The YMCA has so many options to get the whole family involved it is nothing short of amazing.  For more info on the GTA YMCA click HERE

For my next post I will be focusing on moms getting back into the gym!  This was something I really struggled with and I know that I am not alone.  I will have some fantastic tips and tricks from trainers and me 🙂 Stay tuned!!
