Eaton Chelsea The Family Friendly Hotel

Over the long weekend we took a staycation adventure into the city with the kiddos.  It is no secret that we are huge city lovers but haven't really spent much time with the kids in the city so we thought we would go for it.  I had heard wonderful things about the Eaton Chelsea (formerly Delta Chelsea) and that for a family traveling together they were the hotel to stay at so of course we had to give it a try.

From start to finish everything that we needed was available to us.  Never did I have to worry about not having what I needed for my kids, it was all there at my fingertips.  Starting with the room itself  – there was a stool for teeth brushing, a potty, booster seat and lots of fun details for the little ones to check out.  The kids loved this alligator mirror on the wall.

There was a great living space for the kids to play in, more than enough space to park our double stroller and a balcony which Shane loved!  By the end of our trip I think that Duplo pieces may have been in every room.

There was a kitchenette which I am always a huge fan of because I like to travel with milk for the kids and fruit for snacks.  Traveling costs can add up quickly so having the option to eat in sometimes can really help out your pocketbook.

There was a super cute room for the kids with a bunk bed.  Shane had never been on a bunk bed before so he of course thought this was the most amazing thing ever!   Oh and the light was a sun which pretty much blew his mind.  He has been asking for the "nun" ever since.  There was also a little space with an easel, duplo blocks and some trucks.  The TV didn't go on once.  When Shaun and I were getting us ready to go anywhere we could just put them in the play area and they were having fun and staying busy.

The night that we got there we went to the Monarchs Pub.  The staff was super fantastic to us and helped us to get everyone organized.  There were plenty of seats available and both kids had highchairs.  They had some live entertainment and Shane and Aria were excited to clap after every single song.  For breakfast we hit up the Garden Market that is open for all meals and it is a buffet style.  I loved this because I was able to get fruit, yogurt and a muffin that the kids and I could share.  The fruit was in take away packages so was perfect for in our fridge to eat later in the day. Shaun of course had a big bad breakfast and the Starbucks coffee was a nice treat. (check out Shane's sneaky hands getting into my picture)

Before we went out on an adventure we decided to check out the Family Fun Zone.  This included a children's play room that was great for both of the kids.  They had fish and a couple bunnies that Shane loved.  There is also a kids/family pool with a pretty cool slide and an arcade for the older kids.

The hotel's location is so central that we were pretty much able to walk anywhere we wanted to! Another fantastic option for families is the hotel will rent out strollers.  We met a lovely family in the Kid Zone and they had a 4 year old.  He usually does not need a stroller but with lots of walking comes tired little feet.  She was going to send her husband out to buy an umbrella stroller but the hotel took care of it for her and she was able to rent one for the day!  AWESOME right?

Each night when we were walking back "home" we were able to show Shane where we were staying with the Eaton Chelsea logo lit up and then came back to get into our jammies and relax on the couch before bedtime!

Shaun and I dug into our treats when the little ones went to bed πŸ˜‰

I didn't take a picture of our room because it was covered in clothes, suitcases and the like but this is what our room was like.  Nice to have a separate space from the little ones.

We did not get to check it out but there is also an adult pool with a balcony over looking the city!  How about that view?  Maybe next time we will make it an adult only trip πŸ˜‰

If you are planning day trips or tickets to the theater the hotel will also help you in that department. The hotel set up a shuttle bus for us to get down to the ferry docks to hear over to the island for the day!  Just one less thing to have to worry about!  The service just got better and better.

We have traveled and stayed in quite a few hotels in the city.  I would hands down say that if you are coming to Toronto with your kids that THIS is the hotel to stay in.  You and your kids will have a wonderful time totally worry free!  For more info on the Eaton Chelsea Hotel click HERE

A big huge thanks to the hotel and all of their staff for making our staycation in the city totally unforgettable.

Wow, just wow! We have stayed in a lot of hotels but never one that made it easy with children, except for the one trip we made to Orlando, FL. When, my children were small, we had to be creative with hotel stays. We had to take portable cribs and then there would be no room for them or we would have to create a safe place on the floor with rolled up blankets and I hated that. This place looks like an awesome place to stay for families with young children. I’m so glad you had a great time.
