DIY Kids Bedroom Sign
We took on a pretty big job over the past month and have moved both of the kids into new rooms and relocated my office. I know that change can be difficult for the little ones. (heck it's hard for me!) so we decided to get them as involved as possible.
I had them help to create new signs for their rooms so that they would feel as though they had a hand in the big changes. This sign is the easiest DIY project I have done with them.
All you need is:
- Painters Tape
- Scissors
- Variety of paint (we used the colours of their new rooms)
- Canvases (ours were from the dollar store for $3)
- Paint brushes (finger painting works too)
I took the painters tape and wrote out their names with it. I made sure that all the edges of the tape were down as they were going to be painting. Then I gave them a brush and the base colour and let them go to town. I told them to cover all of the white with their base colour and then we let them dry over night.
The next day I gave them another colour and the only instructions I gave them was to not paint as much as they did the day before 😀
After another 24 hours I peeled off the painters tape and we had a finished product. They now hang proudly on the kiddos doors. Super easy and fun!
