Our Family Backyard Makeover is Complete! #LoveLowes

When you think family friendly backyard, what is the first thing that comes to mind?  For me, it's usually fun and food! I knew that I wanted a space for the kids to enjoy as well as the adults.  The most important was a great dining set.

I fell in love with this one!  I knew that I wanted a six seater for space purposes but other than that I was pretty open minded.  We opted for a large umbrella and glass top table.  The entire set is easy to wipe down which is important with 2 toddlers in the house.  Now that the weather is getting nice we find that we are eating most dinners outside.

Being in a new build and low on budget a deck just was not going to happen this year.  As we strolled the isles at Lowes we saw lots of great outdoor carpets and decided to give it a try.  Our yard is pretty level and is a great way to seperate the dining space in our yard before we get a deck.  One of our neighbours came over to check it out and the next day headed over to Lowe's to pick up a carpet also! Explaining to the kids that we had a carpet outside and that it was ok if it got dirty and wet was pretty funny.

What better way to enjoy freezies than on their very own, child size Adirondack chairs?  We now have seperate sitting area just for the 4 of us 😀

I am so thrilled to be getting the kiddos involved in the garden this year, and from start to finish.  They helped to plant our veggies, they water them daily and will help to harvest when ready.  Lowe's has super cute gardening gloves and tools all in just the right size for them.

I couldn't do a major project without something DIY. This one was super easy and you can read more about my DIY Outdoor Chalkboard HERE

So that's it!  My makeover is complete……. now all we need is a fence! I am super thrilled that Lowe's asked us to do this and there have been some really awesome makeovers from the other guest bloggers.  You should definitely head HERE to check out other Lowe's guest bloggers and the different types of backyard makeovers.  We are so looking forward to enjoying our backyard this summer!

I love the idea of using an outdoor rug over the grass! In the past, it always bothered me to have my table on the lawn. This set looks great!

LOVE those chairs for the kids. I will have to go pick some up. We had some chairs for the kids but they were not stable at all and kept tipping over. Those ones look awesom.

What a great makeover! We are looking to bring some life back to our backyard and to our front porch as well. The carpet tip is a fabulous idea for covering a deck without having to rebuild it, and I love your outdoor dining table!
